The Effects of Gibberellin on the Growth of the Welsh Onion Cultured in the Cellar

Abstract
|
|
|
This experiment has been made to find nut the effects of gibberellin on the growth of Welsh-onion cultured in the cellar. The results were as follows.
1. 50 ppm concentration of gibberellin (dipped 30 minutes) promotes the expansion of leaf, 126.7 to check (non-treated) 100.
2. The treatment of gibberellin increased the weight of welshonion. 50ppm (dipped 30 minutes) was 114 to untreated 100. But the treatment effected more length of plant than weight promoted, and those plants grew long and slender by treatment of gibberellin.
3. It was found that it takes 16 days to appear the promotion by treatment (Fig 3).
4. The effects have been shown for 12 days, but remarkable increase was appeared for 8 days.
5. The quality of treated plant was good as untreated plot´s.
